Ron and Trish came aboard aboard Bel Ami in mid-April for a week of fun in the sun. Hailing from Maryland, they celebrated Trish’s birthday (the half-century mark) as well as 11 months of blissful togetherness. And what a cute couple they made, especially with Trisha’s braces reflecting the light everywhere (not to mention the light reflected from both mine and Ron’s heads!) We visited places like the Christmas Cove, Baths, Peter Island Resort, Norman Island, Annenberg Sugar Mill Ruins on St. John, including a hike through the woods to Murphy’s tomb at Annenberg. Other highlights of the trip included a car tour of Virgin Gorda that took us to “Hog Heaven” for some incredible views of not only Gorda Sound but also Anagada. Trish evolved from swab to mate during the trip, manning the sheets as we tacked up and downwind. Ron got comfortable with the swim noodle. Will never forget our overnight at the Dog Islands which we had to ourselves. Trish got 11 heart shaped colored ceramics in celebration of their love for 11 wonderful months. She also got devoured in the Sharks mouth at the Baths. Norman Island hiking proved to be very challenging but well worth the effort as we waited (and waited) for our helicopter pickup at the helipad on the hill overlooking the Norman Island anchorage. And lets not forget the goats we saw in different places along the way. Gorgeous sunsets, warm waters, beautiful reefs abundant with fish, gentle breezes, lots of sunshine…who could ask for more??
